What is a Master Gardener?

A Master Gardener is a trained volunteer who has completed the required educational component and volunteer time.  Master Gardeners share their gardening knowledge with others.

What do Master Gardeners do?

  • Man advice clinics
  • Answer telephone or email inquiries
  • Organize educational programs
  • Make Horticultural presentations
  • Write Media articles

What is the Educational Component?

You have 3 years to complete the educational   component.  Until that time, you are called a Master Gardener in Training (MGiT)

What is the Volunteer Commitment?

Master Gardeners are required to give 20 advice hours and 10 administrative hours per year.
